About this role

The primary purpose of this post is to contribute to the teaching, research, outreach and administrative activities in the Discipline of Radiation Therapy. The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to expanding their reputation in teaching and research in the field of radiation therapy. They will have experience working in a radiation therapy clinical department and their research and clinical experience will underpin their teaching. Post status: Tenure Track - This position is Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements. Hours of Post: Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements. The plan should demonstrate how the applicant’s research aligns with and would contribute to the Discipline of Radiation Therapy, including its clinical, academic, and translational priorities. Applicants are specifically asked to: Outline their key research themes and objectives for the first two years Indicate how their work would integrate with existing expertise within the Discipline and wider institutional/clinical partners Describe their strategy for establishing collaborations (e.g., with clinicians, physicists, and/or other relevant stakeholders) Provide an overview of funding opportunities they intend to pursue, including potential national and/or international schemes Identify expected outputs and impact, including contributions to the Discipline’s research profile Applicants are encouraged to include a brief section describing their priorities for the first 100 days in post, demonstrating how they would establish and position their research within the Discipline. Teaching Statement (max. 2 pages) Applicants are required to submit a two-page teaching statement outlining their teaching experience, approach, and potential contribution to education within the Discipline of Radiation Therapy. The statement should: Summarise the applicant’s teaching experience (undergraduate and/or postgraduate) Describe their teaching philosophy and approach, particularly in relation to integrating scientific principles with clinical practice Indicate how they would contribute to teaching within a Radiation Therapy curriculum Hours: 39 hours per week Career level: Experienced [Non-Managerial] Closing date: 28 May 2026
