Construction - Graduate Quantity Surveyor

Our 2-year Graduate Programme is designed to provide you with a holistic understanding of our business through structured rotations across key functions. You will gain expreince across our various sites. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor Graduate are outlined as follows: The compilation of large sets of data critical to the business for commercial management. The continuous revision and tracking of these data sets. The breakdown, assessment and presentation of this data to internal and external teams. Data sets will involve information relating to payment application, cost reporting, cashflow forecasting, value for money assessment and timesheet review amongst others. Support the project delivery team in the drafting of contractual notices, sub-contracts and supplier agreements. Review and identify relevant contractual terms and conditions from supply chain and from client-side documentation – raise any that appear to present a risk to Glanua. Support the project delivery teams in procurement, change management registers, monthly reporting and rebudgeting. Contribute to the compilation of risk registers for projects, continuously monitor and report on risks as projects proceed. Create and maintain strong communications with the Glanua tenders team. Ensure comprehensive understanding of tender files when projects are handed over for construction. Feedback price / supply chain / programme / logistics wins and losses to the tenders team on a continuous basis. Manage and take ownership of tasks – become an expert in every aspect of your undertakings. Suggest continuous improvement and promote knowledge sharing across the commercial team and between various Glanua departments. Be prepared to hand over to / take over from other team members and ensure that the commercial team maintains consistent and accurate presentation of workload irrespective of annual leave / team adjustment / periods of high activity. Ensure new team members are supported and be prepared to demonstrate key undertakings to them. Visit sites regularly. Create strong relationships with project delivery teams and have a consistent detailed understanding of project programme, progress, risk and opportunity. Knowledge, Skills and Experience: The main knowledge, skills and experience required/desirable of the Quantity Surveyor Graduate: Hold a Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying Demonstrate initiative and ability to progress tasks, identify information gaps and determine how to fill those gaps. Demonstrate ownership of an undertaking and commitment to it (job / volunteering / club membership). A very high level of computer literacy. In particular experience with, and thorough use of, MS Office software. I would say that this is critical. Hours: 39 hours per week Career level: Not Required Closing date: 21 May 2026
