Fibre Optic Technician

Fibre Optic Technician install, maintain, test and repair public and private telecommunications systems, including fibre optic networks, and carry out diagnostics and performance optimisation of telecommunications cables and infrastructure. • Install, configure and maintain internal cabling and wiring for telecommunications systems, including fitting and wiring junction and distribution boxes; • Connect and integrate underground and aerial fibre optic and telecoms lines to premises, ensuring proper termination and signal integrity; • Install and commission telecommunications equipment, including network devices and associated systems; • Use advanced testing equipment (e.g. OTDR and signal analysers) to diagnose faults, assess performance and identify defective components; • Tests installations and performs necessary adjustments to ensure optimal system performance; • Assists in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including overhead lines and support structures; • Connects, splices and tests fibre optic and telecommunications cables to identify defects; • Identify, analyse and repair faults in telecommunications networks and associated equipment; • Installs, erects and maintains telecommunications infrastructure. => Relevant work experience is required Hours: 39 hours per week Career level: Experienced [Non-Managerial] Closing date: 02 Jun 2026
