Healthcare Assistant

Job Description Dargle Valley Nursing Home is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis within a residential care setting. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality care to residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing at all times. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Assist residents with activities of daily living including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and mobility support • Support residents in maintaining independence and participating in daily routines and social activities • Provide emotional and psychological support to residents • Assist with the implementation of individual care plans under the supervision of nursing staff • Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health or wellbeing • Support safe medication practices in line with company policy (under supervision) • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary care team • Adhere to all health & safety, infection control, and safeguarding policies Requirements • QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (or currently undertaking and expected to complete) with relevant healthcare experience • Previous experience in a healthcare or care assistant role is desirable • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • A caring, compassionate, and patient-focused approach Hours: 39 hours per week Career level: Entry Level Closing date: 21 May 2026
