HGV Mechanic

Transway Trailers is a service provider to transport companies in Ireland. We specialise in HGV trailers and can tend to every part of a HGV articulated trailer. The company celebrated 40 years in business in 2024 and has a strong base of loyal customers. We are expanding our team and looking to bring in individuals who want to learn and be trained in specific skill sets to enhance or team. Key Responsibilities/Duties: • Inspecting, servicing and repairing HGV trailers to a high maintenance standard and in line with manufacturers recommendations. Including air braking systems, axles, brake systems, suspension systems and electrical systems. • Maintenance of HGV Trailers. • Fitting components to HGV trailer axles & bodies. • Retrofitting of components to HGV Trailers. • Welding & basic fabrication, if applicable. • Participating in all scheduled training as required by the company. • Contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our facility, vehicles and equipment. • Supporting the companies quality initiatives. • Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest possible standard and contribute to delivering a high level of Customer Experience. • Maintaining a good level of housekeeping. Essential Competencies: • Ability to work as part of a team. • Ability to complete work delegated to a high standard. • Computer / mobile device literacy will be an advantage. • Mechanic or fitter background Hours: 40 hours per week Career level: Experienced [Non-Managerial] Closing date: 26 May 2026
