Marina Manager

The Marina is used by customers 24 hours a day 365 days a year. It is generally manned during office hours and for limited daytime hours during weekends in the boating season. Call-out cover is provided at other times. The position offered is for 40 hours per week, plus some out of hours availability, either on the phone or at the marina. Flexible working hours are an option, with good holidays, preferably taken largely in the winter. Duties; Over all responsibility for operation of the marina, boatyard and RV park. Financial and operational planning for the business. Logistical planning of boat berthing, camper stands and boat storage and services. Responsibility for the Health , Safety and Environmental management of the business. Liasing with customers and potential customers, staff, suppliers and various service suppliers. Promotion of the Marina, Dealing with neighbours, statutory bodies, including the County Council, Irish Water, Irish Lights, EPA, MARA, An Taisce, Chamber of Commerce etc. Management of marina water levels using the lock gates. Levels are controlled to take account of navigation requirements, storm and rainfall forecasts and to manage town flooding in Kilrush. Skills: An ability to deal with the public, businesses and other agencies. Administrative experience in a commercial undertaking is required. Some experience in the tourist, leisure or hospitality sectors would be an advantage. Familiarity with boats, or sailing or fishing would be an advantage Ability to operate the Marina Equipment including a Travel Hoist, Boat Trailer, Forklifts and Access Boom would be an advantage but not essential. Training would be given. Likewise , familiarity with operating small craft would be helpful but not essential. Hours: 40 hours per week Career level: Managerial Closing date: 23 May 2026
