JOB DESCRIPTION: MASON Position: Mason Location: John Curran & Sons Construction Ltd, Hillcrest, Ballyandrew, Doneraile, Co. Cork. Reporting to: Site Foreman / Project Manager Salary: €36,605 per annum (Commensurate with experience) Hours: 39 hours per week (Standard) Role Summary We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mason to join our construction team. This role is specifically structured to comply with the Irish General Employment Permit requirements for 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, stone, and concrete blocks to build or repair walls, chimneys, and other structures. You will work on both residential and commercial projects, ensuring all work meets Irish building regulations and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Laying bricks, stone, or concrete blocks in accordance with technical blueprints and architectural plans. Preparing and mixing mortar, lime, and sand to the correct consistency for the specific materials being used. Constructing and repairing structural walls, partitions, fireplaces, and decorative masonry. Operating equipment and hand tools including trowels, masonry saws, and spirit levels. Ensuring the Site is kept clean and tidy at all time Ensuring all structures are vertically aligned and level using plumb lines and levels. Maintaining a clean and safe workspace in compliance with Health and Safety Authority (HSA) guidelines. Collaborating with other site tradespeople to ensure project deadlines are met. Any other duties the site foreman may assign Required Qualifications and Skills A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Mason or Bricklayer. Knowledge of various masonry materials, including brick, natural stone, and glass blocks. Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Proficiency in English to ensure safety protocols and technical instructions are understood. Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification (or willingness to obtain them immediately).
