Sous Chef Vacancy – Full Time

Carna Nursing Home is a family-run, 51-bed nursing home located in Carna. We are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef/Cook to join our team and provide high-quality, home-cooked meals to our residents. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for: • Maintaining high standards of quality, service, presentation, and cleanliness in the kitchen • Planning menus and overseeing all aspects of food preparation and service • Ensuring food is prepared to the highest standard and delivered within set timeframes • Supporting and encouraging colleagues to maintain excellent kitchen standards • Preparing fresh, homemade, seasonal meals tailored to residents’ needs • Maintaining strict adherence to HACCP and food safety regulations • Catering for modified and specialised diets as required Essential Criteria • Hard-working, self-motivated, and committed individual eager to contribute to a caring environment • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Standards-driven and detail-oriented • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a busy environment • Thorough knowledge of HACCP and experience with modified diets Shift Pattern • 9:30am – 5:30pm/ 10:00am – 6:00pm can vary. • 5 days per week Job Type: Full-time Hours per week: 39 per week Benefits: • On-site parking • Meal provided during shift Hours: 40 hours per week Career level: Not Required Closing date: 19 May 2026
